Neutron scattering facilities

[edit]

A more extensive list of neutron scattering facilities can be found here: http://www.neutron.anl.gov/facilities.html It might be useful to incorporate the notable facilities in the template. Polyamorph (talk) 19:17, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely. For the time being I will however try to concentrate on contributing text. The core article neutron scattering is incredibly bad, and several others are not much better. -- Neutronscattering (talk) 20:44, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Info box at the end?

[edit]

Neutronscattering - I like what you've done and think a template would benefit neutron-related articles, but the size of this is a bit obtrusive and in my opinion slightly gets in the way of reading the articles... could it be made as a "footer" at the end of the article? See Manhattan_Project, at the bottom of this article is a nicely formatted link box. Thoughts? Tevonic (talk) 00:34, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the template link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Manhattan_Project Tevonic (talk) 00:36, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you could also cite Manhattan_Project as a counter example because that article has two not so small side boxes near its beginning - and the template you mention is quite hidden at the bottom of the article, after hundreds of footnotes.

I would suggest to let the box quite visible at the upper right of all neutron-science articles at least for the next couple of months, hopefully attracting some editors to discover how much work remains to be done in the articles ... and once the articles are expanded to a decent size, the box will look different; let us re-discuss then. -- Neutronscattering (talk) 05:59, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Convert to navbox

[edit]

It seems to me that this template is better suited as a navbox rather than a infobox, as neutron research facilities usually will want to use ((Infobox reactor)). Or we could split the neutron facilities into a separate navbox, e.g. ((Neutron research facilitites)). intforce (talk) 16:36, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
