Template-protected edit request on 11 January 2022

[edit]

Replace

| label5 = Born | data5 = ((br separated entries|(({birth_date|))}|(({birth_place|))))}

with

| label10 = Born | data10 = ((Br separated entries|1=((#if:(({birth_name|(({birthname|))))))|<div style="display:inline" class="nickname">(({birth_name|(({birthname|))))))</div>))|2=(({birth_date|))}|3=((#if:(({birth_place|))}|<div style="display:inline" class="birthplace">(({birth_place|))}</div>))))

In order to show the birth name as part of the "Birth" section as in template:infobox person. –DMartin 05:44, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: looks like a consensus needs to be established for this alteration. Please garner the needed consensus before using the ((edit template-protected)) template again. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 10:11, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The birth name should be included with the "Birth" section. If this is the change to the code needed for that result, I'm for it. ~BappleBusiness[talk] 06:33, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Hyphenation Expert (talk) 07:21, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That would put "Died" before "Born" in the infobox so I think this needs further thought. I've put a test on Template:Infobox comedian/testcases#Mel Smith — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:07, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the ((Edit template-protected)) template. MSGJ's counter-argument needs discussion. Primefac (talk) 12:30, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 26 July 2022

[edit]

Make the title of the "birth name" parameter in nowrap, or some other way to make it on one line. It looks strange to have it on two lines, as people rarely have names that span two lines in normal zoom levels. Example of issue can be seen at George Carlin. --IWI (talk) 12:04, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 04:56, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

To any administrator, apply my edit to this infobox's sandbox: replace font-size: 125% in |abovestyle= with (({abovestyle|))}. Santiago Claudio (talk) 04:29, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain the purpose of this edit. Also, I have removed the setting in the edit request saying that this is an edit request for Template:Infobox officeholder rather than Template:Infobox comedian. SilverLocust 💬 10:25, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This edit request is for consistency with (({abovestyle))} in Template:Infobox person. Santiago Claudio (talk) 02:09, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see my comment and questions are Template talk:Infobox writer. When you have a bunch of similar requests, it is generally better to post them somewhere centrally so each one does not generate its own discussion. Maybe something to consider in the future. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:35, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done pending a response * Pppery * it has begun... 22:07, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I synced the testcases; there were no errors. I don't know where that "somewhere centrally" is. Santiago Claudio (talk) 02:43, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, editor Santiago Claudio, that "somewhere centrally" can be anywhere, even right here on this page. Template ((Edit template-protected)) has positional parameters, so it can be used like the following:
  • ((edit template-protected|Template:Infobox comedian|Template:Infobox writer|(template #3) and so on|answered=no))
That way, every page you want to edit with the same edits is listed on one page. See this example. According to its documentation "You can add an unlimited number of pages," to the ((Edit template-protected)) template. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 17:02, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
