Could someone add some detail to the legend at the bottom of this diagram? Some colors are used for more than one party (yellow, grey and light blue). It is not clear which color applies to which bar in the graph. I would assume each of these three colors mean different things at different dates. Would it not make sense to keep the Patriots and ESN distinct? What makes, e.g., the AfD distinct from Fidesz?

I have no idea what is the difference between ECR, Patriots and ESN. Other than each next one being more radical than previous one.
