Venkateshvara Temple → Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Tirumala – The present name Venkateswara Temple is not correct as it is not a common name, but a generic name. There are hundreds of such temples across the state of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamilnadu and other locations across the world. I give few examples for which articles exist in Wikipedia already: Venkateswara Temple, Dwaraka Tirumala, Venkateswara Temple, Minnesota and Venkateswara Temple, Ramenahalli. As a person born and brought up in Andhra Pradesh, the Indian state in which the temple exists, the temple is more commonly referred as Tirupati, Tirupati Konda (meaning Tirumala hill). So in this context, the official name of "Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple", along with location "Tirumala" is more appropriate. - Oppose Sri and Swamy see previous RM. but Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala needed. Venkateswara Temple (disambiguation)In ictu oculi (talk) 15:49, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose your proposal, but would be inclined to support Venkateshvara Temple, Tirumala. Chronikhiles (talk) 17:44, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: A move away from the current title and to Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala/Venkateshvara Temple, Tirumala seems supported, but there is no consensus for which spelling of "Venkateswara" or "Venkateshvara" should be used. Further discussion on the spelling is encouraged. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 01:05, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Support "Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala", as it is the official spelling as per TTD website cited in previous discussion. Arjunaraoc (talk) 09:15, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- "Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala" should be the page name as per WP:COMMONNAME. Even TTD, the official management group of Tirupati temple always uses Venkateswara. Reo kwon (talk) 10:52, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
