Talk:Robert Johnson (guitars)

This article reads like a pure advertisement. There's probably some worth keeping, but if all the promo/advertising were removed, there wouldn't be much left. - Special-T (talk) 14:53, 12 September 2012 (UTC) This is the only concrete article which sheds light on the guitars R.J. played, the forgotten, rarely seen and undocumented Valley Arts commemorative which Steve LaVere himself spearheaded, the strange series of events where the project was botched, Gibson acquired Valley Arts then eventually reissued an R.J. L-1 of their own. As an owner of a Valley Arts commemorative (#52) since 1997, I think its an interesting story to tell; a story no one knew about until I put it together, partly by contacting both Steve LaVere and John Maher. Keb Mo's management hasn't responded to my request for more details on these tribute models, but I'll get hold of him someday. Valley Arts models are no longer available and I'd never sell mine. I'm not trying to sell Gibson models, but was surprised to find that they existed and were so expensive, so mentioned price because they're so much more that the 30's models and the Valley Arts models. I can see how MSRP might be seen as a pitch or something, and the price may fluctuate too, so am removing those bits. Rovermeiren (talk) 04:27, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
