Actually this party is not considered nationalist in Estonia, it is more like a (left wing) populist party and its support consists mostly of elderly rural people discontent with the collapse of state financed farming system during the 1990s. Its leaders are mostly former collective farm managers (as our present president once used to be, too), which are not considered very nationalist people, as they were engaged to Soviet management during the years of Communism (Arnold Rüütel was the Chairman of the Presidium of Supreme Soviet of ESSR beginning with Andropov era). People who were considered nationalists were (and most of them label themselves even now) those people who used to be dissidents during the Soviet occupation or lead the more radical wing of independence movement during the late 1980s and the beginning of 1990s. Fatherland Union represents those people. As People's Union rejects the idea of introducing European common currency Euro in Estonia soon, I suggest calling the party Eurosceptic.
