I moved this from "Nicholas" (a common mis-spelling, but still a mis-spelling). Camembert

Walkabout: director or cinematographer?

[edit]

This article describes Roeg as cinematographer of Walkabout, while the article Walkabout (film) says he was director. I suppose one of the two needs correcting. PJTraill 19:01, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The credits for the film say "Directed and Photographed by: Nicholas Roeg" Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 11:30, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cinematographer

[edit]

The lead mentions Lawrence of Arabia, but it's not in the list of films. So did he or didn't he? 83.70.224.72 (talk) 13:55, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently, yes. But no longer mentioned in the lead. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:20, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cut-up technique

[edit]

The article claims that Roeg employs the cut-up technique. Note that this is a literary technique, and montage techniques already existed in film before Brion Gysin et al employed it in the literary context. More likely that Roeg draws on film techniques, e.g. the Kuleshov Effect. In any event there is no attribution that Roeg uses the (literary) cut-up technique to make films. (Also see my comments at Talk:Cut-up technique) -- Gyrofrog (talk) 20:30, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No longer mentioned. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:23, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Pros and Cons of HitchHiking

[edit]

Roeg also made the videos promoting Roger (Pink Floyd) Waters' first solo album, The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking, as well as a lengthier backdrop film shown during Waters' concerts for that tour J Edward Malone (talk) 18:11, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Film career

[edit]

The information in the "Film career" section pertains more to Roeg's directorial style and impact rather than an account of his career as a cinematographer and director. I have been looking to expand this article to include such a section and am willing to source reliable information in the process. Any thoughts on this?
