New York City subsection
[edit]In the New York City subsection, it is stated that "Morton generally had trouble finding musicians who wanted to play his style of jazz" followed by a list of great musicians who palyed and recorded with him, and "His New York sessions failed to produce a hit." These are cited to Reich and Gaines, a source I consider to be extremely problematic. In Jazz: A History of the New York Scene (1984), p. 236, Samuel Charters and Len Kunstadt, two very well respected jazz scholars write, "He [Morton] wanted to get into the New York publishing scene and he wanted to continue recording with New York musicians. . . . and in June 1928 made a number of recordings with a small pickup band, which were almost as successful as his Chicago recordings had been." The section also says that JRM came to NY after he married in November 1928, but he actually came in February 1928. Tom Reedy (talk) 22:17, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
