Talk:Dongshan, Yilan

Taiwan

[edit]

Nationalist (talk · contribs) pointed out that I should follow the naming conventions for Chinese. I respect those conventions, and will try to follow them in the future. However, the disputed naming conventions for Chinese also make this article kind of confusing even though it is the political NPOV. Since there are also conventions for common names (WP:NC (common names)), plus a third opinion in Talk:Guantian, Tainan, I think I have the right to ignore the naming conventions for Chinese. Nationalist, or other editors, if you disagree with me, please tell me why. Thank you all.--Jerrypp772000 23:19, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Nationalist (talk · contribs) pointed out that this is the "English-speaking world," which I believe can be technically right, since this is the English Wikipedia. And ROC is rarely used in the English-speaking world, instead we commonly use Taiwan. Please discuss before making further changes, and if you don't reply, then I guess you agree with me. If that's the case, please change it back to Yilan County, Taiwan or Yilan County, ROC (Taiwan), thanks.--Jerrypp772000 23:25, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
One day He will probably push to move the Republic of China article to "Taiwan." The consensus on Wikipedia is against this. Please stop trying to push your extremist Taiwan Solidarity Union and DPP Anti ROC and Pro Taiwan independence views in this encyclopedia. I have had enough of your shit. -Nationalist 05:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I've said before ROC and Taiwan aren't the same thing. However, it is a fact that Taiwan is the common name for the ROC. And please watch your language. Thanks.--Jerrypp772000 20:19, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nationalist, please stop ignoring other users' and my inputs and assume bad faith on everyone that goes against your edits. Again, "Comment on the content, NOT on the contributor." Vic226 20:25, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And, please stop being stubborn and read WP:IAR, which allows me to edit this article and make it less confusing without following the naming conventions for Chinese. Also see WP:NAM.--Jerrypp772000 23:15, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
