Ray Township is one of thirteen townships in Franklin County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 4,314,[3] up from 4,021 at 2010.[4]

History

Ray Township is named for James B. Ray, fourth Governor of Indiana.[6]

The Oldenburg Historic District and Stockheughter Covered Bridge are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[7]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 39.69 square miles (102.8 km2), of which 39.61 square miles (102.6 km2) (or 99.80%) is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 km2) (or 0.20%) is water.[4]
