In 1965, LaCroix began his commercial photographic career,[7] and musically returned to his first love, singing Jazz.

LaCroix has received more the 60 awards for his photography and in 2008 was awarded The Lifetime Achievement award by the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communication.[8] In 2017, LaCroix and Ted O'Reilly published Toronto Jazz Treasures, a coffee table book of photographic portraits of 100 of Toronto's best-known jazz musicians.
