Summary

Ancient style of scripture of the Pali Canon. Picture made by myself.

In ancient times the Pali Canon was not published in book form, but written on thin slices of wood (possibly bamboo). These 'pages' are kept on top of each other by thin sticks, which go through two little holes in scripture. When not used, the scripture is covered in cloth and kept in the box which is on the picture.

This particular piece of scripture is made in Thailand, and contains just a small section of the Pali Canon.
