Falusi Mihály szobrászművész és Gulyás József kőfaragó alkotását 1935-ben avatták fel, 1949 körül 1919-es mártírok emlékművévé alakították át, majd az 1980-as években lebontották. 2001-ben eredeti fényképek és rajzok alapján Székely Tibor építész, Faragó János kõszobrász és Horváth Gyula közreműködésével újra felépítették
