A young naval cadet and his mother view Lemuel Abbott's portrait of Nelson at the Naval Gallery in the Painted Hall of Greenwich Hospital. Also in the picture are two other works about the life of Nelson, George Arnald's 'Victory of the Nile, 1 August 1798', and Richard Westall's 'Nelson in Conflict with a Spanish Launch, July 1797'
