Description
English: "Female Opinions on Military Tactics", a 1790s caricature engraved by Isaac Cruikshank. Despite the title, this doesn't really mock feminine ignorance of military matters, but instead derives its humor from situations involving inexperienced soldiers of the militia or volunteers -- and adds in a good number of double entendres. Said to be dated Sept. 30 1790, but date might have been misread, since the young women's clothing styles suggest a few years later than that.
Date 30 September 1798
date QS:P571,+1798-09-30T00:00:00Z/11
