Chioninia stangeri (English common name: Stanger's skink) is a species of lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is endemic to the Cape Verde Islands.[2]
Geographic range
[edit]C. stangeri is found on the islands of São Vicente, Santa Luzia, Ilhéu Branco, and Ilhéu Raso.[1]
Habitat
[edit]The preferred natural habitat of C. stangeri is shrubland.[1]
Reproduction
[edit]C. stangeri is viviparous.[2]
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, stangeri, is in honor of English explorer William Stanger.[3]
