IC 4400 bezeichnet im Index-Katalog viele scheinbar dicht beieinander liegende Sterne im Sternbild Zentaur. Der Katalogeintrag geht auf eine Beobachtung des Astronomen Robert Innes im Jahr 1898 zurück.[1][2]
