- 1964 – In München kommt die Jazz-Organistin Barbara Dennerlein zur Welt.
- 1964 – In drei Kategorien wird erstmals der schwedische Filmpreis Guldbagge verliehen, wobei Regisseur Ingmar Bergman und Hauptdarstellerin Ingrid Thulin ihre Auszeichnung für Das Schweigen erhalten.
- 1974 – Initiiert von Mildred Scheel wird in Bonn die Deutsche Krebshilfe gegründet.
- 1994 – In einem Referendum wird in der Schweiz die Einfügung einer Rassismus-Strafnorm in das Strafgesetzbuch gebilligt.
