- eine Verringerung der Gewichtskraft eines Körpers in einem Fluid:
- statischer Auftrieb eines eintauchenden Körpers
- dynamischer Auftrieb eines umströmten Körpers
- das Aufsteigen von Wasser aus tieferen Schichten, siehe Auftrieb (Ozeanographie)
- die Verlagerung von Weidevieh auf Bergweiden, siehe Almauftrieb
