Adolfo Jenni

Adolfo Jenni (* 3. Mai 1911 in Modena; † 13. Februar 1997 in Bern) war ein Schweizer Schriftsteller und Literaturhistoriker.

Adolfo Jenni wurde geboren als Sohn des Berners Hans Jenni und seiner italienischen Frau Maria, geborene Barbieri.[1] Er studierte an den Universitäten Bologna und Zürich. Von 1945[2] bis 1976[3] war er Professor für italienische Sprache und Literatur an der Universität Bern. Saverio Adami, Protagonist in mehreren seiner Bücher, ist ein Alter Ego des Autors. Für seinen Roman Il tempo che passa erhielt er 1949 den ersten Premio Charles Veillon zugesprochen.

Er war verheiratet und hatte vier Kinder, darunter der spätere Politiker Daniele Jenni (1949–2007).
