Asana, neu osgo'r corff, o fewn ioga yw Gomukhasana (Sansgrit: गौमुखासन; IAST : Gomukhāsana) neu Wyneb y Fuwch.[1] Gelwir y math hwn o osgo'n asana eistedd mewn ymarferion ioga hatha ac ioga modern fel ymarfer corff, ac fe'i defnyddir weithiau ar gyfer myfyrdod.

Geirdarddiad

[golygu | golygu cod]

Daw'r enw o'r Sansgrit गौ go sy'n golygu "buwch", मुख mukha sy'n golygu "wyneb" neu "geg",[2] ac आसन āsana sy'n golygu "osgo" neu "safle'r corff".[3]

Mae'r ystum yn hynafol iawn a chaiff ei ddisgrifio yn y Darshana Upanishad, a ysgrifennwyd tua'r 4g.[4] Fe'i defnyddir weithiau ar gyfer myfyrdod a pranayama (anadlu).[5]

Disgrifiad

[golygu | golygu cod]

Mae'r asana yma'n dilyn penlinio trwy blethu'r coesau fel teiliwr; mae sawdl rhan uchaf y goes wedi'i osod o dan y glun isaf ger y pen-ôl. Mae'r fraich ar ochr isaf y goes yn cael ei chodi ac yn plygu i lawr, tra bod y fraich arall yn ymestyn i lawr y tu ôl i'r cefn, gyda'r elin (forearm) yn plygu i fyny, fel bod y dwylo'n gallu cydio'n ei gilydd rhwng llafnau'r ysgwyddau.[6]

Mae'r asana yma'n ymestyn yr ysgwyddau. Gellir addasu safle'r llaw gan ddefnyddio strap i ymestyn y cyrhaeddiad i'r rhai na allant ddod â'r dwylo at ei gilydd y tu ôl i'r cefn.[7]
