Asana (neu osgo'r corff) o fewn ioga yw Bālāsana (Sansgrit: बालासन), neu Y Plentyn,[1] neu weithiau Plentyn yn Gorffwys. Mae'n asana penlinio, ac fei'i ceir mewn ioga modern fel ymarfer corff. Y Balasana yw'r asana croes i sawl osgo arall, ac fel arfer caiff ei ymarfer cyn ac ar ôl Sirsasana.[2]

Geirdarddiad

[golygu | golygu cod]

Daw'r enw o'r geiriau Sansgrit बाल bala, "plentyn" ac आसन āsana, "osgo neu siap" (y corff).[3]

Ni ddisgrifir Balasana tan yr 20g pan ymddangosodd yr osgo hwn yn y gyfrol Gymnasteg Gynradd gan Niels Bukh ym 1924.[4][5]

Darlunnir Ananda Balasana fel Kandukasana (Y Bêl) yn Sritattvanidhi yn y 19g.[6]

Y Gwnhingen

Os oes angen, ac yn ystod beichiogrwydd, gall y pengliniau ledu oddi wrth ei gilydd.[7] Gall y breichiau hefyd gael eu hymestyn ymlaen o flaen y pen.[8]

Mae Ananda Balasana neu "Babi Hapus" yn ffurf wrthdro o'r asana hwn. Yma, mae'r corff ar y cefn, y cluniau ochr yn ochr â'r corff, y pengliniau wedi'u plygu a'r dwylo'n gafael ym mysedd y traed.[9]

Mae Uttana Shishosana neu "Ci Bach Cam Ymhellach" yn ymestyn y corff nes bo'r talcen yn gorffwys ar y llawr a'r cluniau'n fertigol, gan roi ystum canolradd rhwng Balasana ac Adho Mukha Shvanasana (Ci ar i Lawr).[10]

Mae Shasangasana (शसांगासन) neu "Y Gwningen", sy'n cael ei ymarfer yn Ioga Bikram, wedi'i godi nes bod y cluniau'n fertigol a'r pen a'r breichiau'n pwyntio'n ôl at y traed, gan greu hyblygrwydd dwys i'r asgwrn cefn.[11]
