El 2009, David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik, i Kiril Kulish van ser nominats conjuntament per les seves interpretacions a Billy Elliot interpretant al personatge homònim. Van guanyar el premi, sent la primera vegada que es concedeix de manera conjunta.
El 2021, Aaron Tveit va ser l'únic nominat en la categoria, tot i així necessita un 60% dels vots per tal de guanyar.^[4]
