Graham Hancock, investigador i escriptor, va néixer a Edimburg l'any 1950 i es llicencià en sociologia. Des de 1987 es dedica exclusivament a escriure. Ha mostrat una especial cura en investigar assumptes tan diversos com l'egiptologia, història de les civilitzacions, arqueologia o religió.
Aporta innovadores teories sobre els orígens de la terra i l'evolució de les civilitzacions, aporta estudis detallats i documentats en una extensa bibliografia.
