Lektin
Lektini (lat. legere = birati) su proteini koji vežu šećere. Veoma su specifični za svaki od njih. Lektini se razlikuju od glikoproteina, koji su proteini u kojima se nalaze šećerni lanci ili njihovi ostaci.[1][2][3][4]
Lektini čestvuju u aktivnostima biološkog prepoznavanja ćelija i proteina. Naprimjer, neki virusi imaju lektine koji se vežu za ćelije organizma, koji predstavlja domaćina tokom infekcije. Lektini se mogu onesposobiti specifičnim monosaharidima i/ili oligosaharidima, koji se za njih vežu i sprečavaju vezanje za ćelijske membrane.[5][6]
Glavni lektini
[uredi | uredi izvor]Glavni lektini potiču iz biljaka različite taksonomske pripadnosti, uključujući i biljke čiji areal obuhvata i teritoriju Bosne i Hercegovine, među kojima i endeme porodice Fabaceae.
