Lanarija (lat. Lanaria) je monotipski rod cvjetnica sa samo jednom vrstom, Lanaria lanata. To je endem južne obale Južne Afrike, gdje je povezana s pojasom finbosa (karakteristični tip vegetacije koji se nalazi samo na južnom vrhu Afrike. Uključuje širok spektar biljnih vrsta, posebno mala stabla i grmove).[3][4][5]

Lanaria lanata obično je poznata kao kapski runolist ili janjeći rep. Rod je smješten u monotipsku porodicu Lanariaceae,[1] porodica koju su taksonomi tek nedavno priznali. APG IV sistem iz 2016. (nepromijenjen od 1998, verzija 2003 i 2009) prepoznaje i ovu porodicu.[6][7]

Ova vrsta se pojavljuje na glinenim i pješčenjačkim tlima u cijelom njenom rasponu distribucije. Čvrsti, rebrasti listovi potiču od drvenaste podloge i zimzeleni su, kanalizirani i fino nazubljeni duž ivica. Guste, vunene, bijele glave obuhvataju sljezasto ljubičaste cvjetove koji su karakteristični za ovu vrstu. Cvjetanje je bogato, nakon požara.
