দ্য ডেইলি টক
দ্য ডেইলি টক ইংরেজি ভাষায় ব্ল্যাকবোর্ডে লিখিত একটি দৈনিক পত্রিকা। সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ খবরগুলো প্রতিদিন হাতে লিখে প্রকাশিত হচ্ছে এই কাগজে। এটি লাইবেরিয়ার রাজধানী মনরোভিয়ার টাবম্যান বুলেভার্ডে অবস্থিত। নিউ ইয়র্ক টাইমসের তথ্য মতে এটি মনরোভিয়ার সর্বাধিক পঠিত পত্রিকা কারণ মনরোভিয়ার অধিকাংশের কাছেই টাকার সল্পতা থাকাতে তারা গতানুগাতিক সংবাদ মাধ্যমের দেখা পায় না। [১]
২০০০ সালে এই ব্ল্যাকবোর্ড পত্রিকাটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন আলফ্রেড জে. স্যারলিফ। তিনিই এই দৈনিকের একমাত্র প্রকাশক, সম্পাদক ও প্রতিবেদক। তিনি মনে করেন যুদ্ধ পরবর্তী লাইবেরিয়া একটি তথ্য সম্বৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিনত হবে এবং তিনি সহজে জনগনের কাছে তথ্য পৌঁছে দেওয়ার জন্যই পত্রিকাটি চালু করেন।[২] পত্রিকাটির অধিকাংশ খবর সংগ্রহ করা হয় প্রতিদিনের গতানুগাতিক সংবাদপত্র ও কিছু স্বেচ্ছাসেবকের মাধ্যমে। ডেইলি টক পত্রিকাটি পাঠকেরা বিনামূল্যে পড়তে পারে ও মাঝে মাঝে কোন উপহার বা মোবাইল ফোন প্রিপেইড কার্ডকে গ্রহণ করা হয় খরচ চালানোর জন্য। এছাড়া স্যারলিফের নিজস্ব একটি নির্দেশনা বাক্স আছে পত্রিকাটির সাথে। যেখানে তিনি পত্রিকাটির পাঠক ও অনুসারীদের বিভিন্ন দিকনির্দেশনামূলক কথা লিখে থাকেন।
স্যারলিফ পত্রিকাটির পাশেই একটি ছোট ঘর স্থাপন করেছেন যেটাকে তিনি তার অফিস হিসেবে ব্যবহার করেন। চার্লস টেইলরের শাসন আমলে সরকারি সৈন্যরা একবার পত্রিকাটির অফিস ভেঙ্গে দিয়েছিল এবং স্যারলিফকে জেলে পাঠিয়েছিল কারণ স্যারলিফ টেইলরের সমালোচনা করে একটি লেখা প্রকাশ করেছিলেন। পরবর্তীতে মনরোভিয়ার জণগনের সহায্যে তিনি পুনরায় তার পত্রিকাটি চালু করেন ২০০৫ সালে, রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচনের ঠিক এক সপ্তাহ আগে।
