Yəşimin digər adı - nefrit - ispan dilindən tərcümədə "bel daşı" mənasını verir. Buna görə də bu daş sadəcə böyrək ağrılarında əvəz edilməzdir. Bundan başqa, nefrit dərini cavanlaşdırmaq, qırışıqları hamarlamaq qabiliyyətinə malikdir. Yaxşısı budur, bu daşları muncuqlarda, medalyonlarda və üzüklərdə daşıyasınız[1].
