O Fortuna— XII əsrin əvvəllərində yazılmış orta əsr Latın Qoliardik şeridir. O Fortuna həmdə Carmina Burana kimi tanınan kolleksiyanın hissələrindən biridir. Bu Roma mifologiyasındakı xoşbəxtlik təcəssümünə, Fortuna və taleyə narazılıq edir.

1935-1936-cı ildə Alman bəstəkar Karl Orf öz Carmina Burana kantatasının ən məşhur hissəsi və əsərin açılış və bağlanış hissələrində ifa edilən "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi" kimi adlanan musiqi bəstələdi. Birinci dəfə 8 iyun 1937-ci ildə Alte Operdə səhnələşdirilib. Ton son doqquz bara qədər məqamlıdır. Konsertin müddəti iki dəqiqə yarımdan bir az daha çoxdur.

Orffun şeir üzərindəki aktları olduqca populyar olub saysız-hesabsız klassik musiqi orkestrləri və sənətkarlar tərəfindən ifa edilib. Bu musiqi parçası çoxsaylı filmlər və televiziya reklam çarxlarında eşidilir və dramatik və ya həlledici hallarda əhval-ruhiyyəni tənzimləmək üçün populyar mədəniyyətin əsasında çevrilib.[1] "O Fortuna" İngiltərədə son 75 ilin ən çox ifa olunan klassik musiqi əsəri halına gəlmişdir.[2]
