Brahmanlar — qədim Hindistanda kahinlər kastası. Hesab edilirdi ki, Brahma öz dodaqlarından kahin brahmanları yaratmışdır. Buna görə də onlar adamlarla Brahmanın adından danışa bilərlər. Kahinləri hər evə dəvət edir, tanrıya qurban vermək istəyirdilər, belə ki, kahinlər qurbanvermənin icraçısı, din bilicisi və şərhçisi idilər. Brahmanlar hindlilərin birinci ali kastası sayılır.
