La llista Fortune 500 ye una llista espublizada añalmente pola revista Fortune que ellabora un ránking de les 500 mayores compañíes d'Estaos Xuníos a partir de los sos ingresos totales nel añu fiscal respectivu[1]. La llista inclúi tanto les empreses de capital abiertu, que coticen en bolsa y tienen obligación d'espublizar esos datos, como les non cotizaes que faen públicos voluntariamente esos datos. La idea, y el desarrollu de la mesma, remóntense a la década de 1950 de manes del editor Edgar P. Smith, que publicó la primera en 1955[2][3]. Magar que la Fortune 500 ye la más popular de les trés, esisten otres dos llistes rellacionaes con ella: la Fortune 100 y la Fortune 1000[4].

Una versión ampliada de so, que llista compañíes de tol mundu, ye nomada Fortune Global 500.
