Ernest Whitman (21 de febreru de 1893, Fort Smith (es) – 5 d'agostu de 1954, Hollywood) foi un actor teatral, cinematográficu y televisivu d'Estaos Xuníos.[2][3]
Biografía
[editar | editar la fonte]Nacíu en Fort Smith, Arkansas, como actor teatral trabayó nel circuitu de Broadway (Nueva York) ente 1929 y 1934 en cinco pieces teatrales y nuna revista.
El so debú cinematográficu tuvo llugar en 1934, y actuó nun total de cuarenta y cinco film, en gran parte d'ellos con pequeños papeles ensin acreitar. La so última película foi The Sun shines bright (1953), de John Ford. Ente les películes más destacaes nes que participó figuren The Green Pastures (1936, de Marc Connelly y William Keighley), el western Jesse James (1939, de Henry King) y la so continuación, The Return of Frank James (1940, de Fritz Lang), y el musical Cabin in the Sky (1943, de Vincente Minnelli y Busby Berkeley).
En televisión foi Bill Jackson n'ocho episodios, emitíos en 1952, de la serie Beulah, creada por Jean Yarbrough, con Louise Beavers y Hattie McDaniel interpretando al personaxe del títulu. L'interpretó'l mesmu papel na adautación radiofónica de la serie, dende 1952 hasta la so muerte en 1954.[4]
Ernest Whitman finó por causa de un infartu agudu de miocardiu en 1954 en Hollywood, California.[5]Foi soterráu nel Campusantu Angelus Rosedale de Los Angeles.
