জিকা ভাইৰাছ (Zika virus বা ZIKV) হৈছে ভাইৰাছ পৰিয়াল Flaviviridae আৰু গণ Flavivirus-ৰ অন্তৰ্গত এবিধ বীজাণু।^[1] দিনত সক্ৰিয় থকা Aedes মহ যেনে A. aegyptiয়ে এই ভাইৰাছ বিয়পায়।^[2] এই নামটো ১৯৪৭ চনত ভাইৰাছবিধ প্ৰথম ধৰা পৰা উগাণ্ডাৰ জিকা অৰণ্যৰ পৰা আহিছে।^[3] জিকা ভাইৰাছৰ ডেংগি, পীত জ্বৰ, জাপানীজ এন্‌কেফেলাইটিছ আৰু ৱেষ্ট নাইল ভাইৰাছৰ লগত সম্পৰ্ক আছে।^[4] ১৯৫০ চনমানৰে পৰা আফ্ৰিকা হৈ এছিয়া পৰ্যন্ত বিষুৱৰেখাৰ ওচৰে মাজৰে এই ৰোগ হোৱা বুলি জনা যায়। ২০০৭ চনৰ পৰা ২০১৬ লৈকে ভাইৰাছবিধ প্ৰশান্ত মহাসাগৰ পাৰ হৈ আমেৰিকালৈ বিয়পে আৰু ২০১৫-২০১৬ জিকা ভাইৰাছ মহামাৰীৰ সৃষ্টি কৰে।
