  • يجب رفع الصور إمّا على ويكيبيديا أو على ويكيميديا كومنز قبل أن يكون باستطاعتك استخدامها.
  • إن لم يتكن تمتلك حساباً، يجب عليك الحصول على واحدٍ لتستطيع رفع صورك.
  • تُفضّل ويكيبيديا الصور الحرّة التي يُمكن إعادة استخدامها تجاريّاً وتعديلها.
  • يُمكن استخدام الصور غير الحرّة، لكن في ظروفٍ خاصّة فقط، وفي حال عدم وجود بديلٍ لها.
  • يستقبل موقع ويكيميديا كومنز الصور الحرّة فقط، ويُتيح استخدامها في مشاريع ويكيميديا الأخرى.
