Rassisme of rassediskriminasie dui op die sosiale, ekonomiese of politiese diskriminasie teenoor 'n persoon (of groep persone) gebaseer op ras en/of velkleur. Dit dui nie noodwendig op die haat van een ras teenoor 'n ander nie, maar die uitsluiting of weiering van sekere regte en voorregte, soos destyds toegepas deur die apartheidsregering van Suid-Afrika en die Jim Crow-wette in die VSA.
