Neum

Neum (Cyrillies: Неум; uitspraak: Nêoem) is 'n dorp en munisipaliteit in Bosnië en Herzegowina en die enigste dorp in die land wat aan die see grens. Dit is dus die land se enigste toegang tot die Adriatiese See. In 2013 het die munisipaliteit Neum 4 653 inwoners en die dorp 3 013 inwoners gehad.

Geografie

Neum[1] is die enigste dorp aan Bosnië en Herzegowina se kuslyn van sowat 25 km[2][3] (of soms aangedui as 29,61 km)[4] en is dus die land se enigste toegang tot die Adriatiese See.[5]

Neum is 68 km van Dubrovnik en 30 km van Ploče en Metković, wat albei spoorwegstasies het.[2]

Die land se kusstrook by Neum sny die suidelikste enklave van Kroasië af van die res van Kroasië. Dit is 'n gevolg van die Verdrag van Karlowitz van 1699. Sedert 1991 en die verbrokkeling van Joego-Slawië is die grense tussen Kroasië en Bosnië en Herzegowina in die Neumstreek internasionale grense.[2]

Die munisipaliteit sluit die dorp Neum en verskeie ander dorpies in:[6] Babin Do, Borut, Brestica, Broćanac, Brštanica, Cerovica, Cerovo, Crnoglav, Dobri Do, Dobrovo, Donji Drijen, Donji Zelenikovac, Dubravica, Duži, Glumina, Gornje Hrasno, Gradac, Hotanj Hutovski, Hutovo, Kiševo, Moševići, Prapratnica, Previš, Rabrani, Vinine en Žukovica.
